I am thrilled that my fellow blogger, Helene (HealthyFrenchie) has nominated me for a Kreativ Blogger Award. There are, apparently, some formats to follow when nominated for this award, so I am going to try to stay up to speed and not bend too many rules and traditions. 🙂
First of all, if you haven’t visited healthyfrenchie.wordpress.com you need to do so! As in, right now. She gives good common sense about health, fitness, and wonderful food suggestions (polenta recipe, oh my!), so give her blog a read because I love it.
Next, I am supposed to tell you seven things about me that you may not have known. Since most, if not all, of you already know I am in remission from cancer right now, I’m going to give you some odd, and perhaps quirky, tidbits.
1 — I moved here from Canada when I was only six years old. Despite that, I am still a Canadian citizen. In other words, I can’t vote here. This is only extremely frustrating once every four years. American citizenship is on my list of things to do, and I will get there.
2 — I took a degree in French (literature and history, basically) during my University years. This is not the most practical degree in California, but I still love the language and read my French literature (for fun, yes I am a bit of a nerd).
3 — For the first 11 years of my life, I wanted to be a Nun. Ironic, no?
4 — Blogging helped me maintain my sanity during my year of surgeries and chemo, so many thanks to all of you who read.
5 — I am neither a dog nor a cat person. Although I have two dogs currently, you have to keep a close eye on me. I am liable to come home with every kind of animal, and need to move to a farm.
6 — Hmmmm…I speak a little bit of Italian along with my fluent French and English. My Lara and her family are teaching me to speak Greek. I will speak French while Lara responds in Greek, and we are able to understand each other. Mostly!
7 — I usually have a sweet disposition, so I shock people when I put my foot down and become completely immovable. I’m a Scorpio, so although I am sweet – don’t cross me! Haha…
Now, to nominate seven blogs as well:
For poetry, you must must must visit 1emeraldcity.wordpress.com! Jackie’s writing is amazing, there’s no other word for it.
For art, poetry, profound thinking and lovely writing, roxiesdreams.wordpress.com.
For down to earth writing about health, of course I recommend healthyfrenchie.wordpress.com.
For further writing about nutrition and fitness, sarahadoesfitness.wordpress.com
A blog I was just introduced to and nominate as well is mealsandmovesblog.com. When you read about my “Adventurous April” – that’s where it all started.
For an all around lovely blog, read suellenocean.wordpress.com – cooking, language, gardening, you name it.
And, for humor and good times – I nominate bitchesintheburbs.com. I’ve been reading their blog for quite sometime, and I know the second I need a pick-me-up that’s exactly where to go.
Thank you, again, Ms. Helene!
Blessings to you all…
