It’s Saturday. I know that. I’ve been awake since 3:00 a.m., and just snuck into my daughter’s room to write this post. See, if I go for my laptop, I’ll wake Lara up. Maddie, however, will sleep through nearly anything. Moses, not quite: he already staggered out to the kitchen at 4:00 a.m. to give me a hug and a kiss and mutter, “love you” before he managed to weave his way back to bed. 🙂
Today, I am participating in my first walk/run/event since cancer. We are going as a family to join about 1000 other walkers this morning. I’m thrilled. The 4th of October was my two year anniversary of the END of chemo, and I forgot about it. Days later, I remembered. I like the forgetfulness that comes into play now. It feels more…normal. Well, as normal as I ever am. Haha.
So, some thoughts for your weekend:
“All the world is full of suffering. It is also full of overcoming.” ~ Helen Keller
“I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.” ~ D.H. Lawrence
“Our happiness or our unhappiness depends far more on the way we meet the events of life than on the nature of the events themselves.” ~ Wilhelm von Humboldt
“I do not understand at all the mystery of grace – only that it meets us where we are but does not leave us where it found us.” ~ Anne Lamott
Blessings to you all, and NEVER GIVE UP!
