Yesterday morning found me awake by 2:00 a.m. After tossing and turning and attempting to go back to sleep for more than an hour, I finally gave up and made some coffee and started my day. As a result, I was dragging, seriously dragging, all day long. I still feel as though I’m playing catch up this morning, but not in a panic-stricken, how can I function at all way.
Friday Philosophy quotes this week are somewhat shaped by the sleep deprivation. I tell you, nothing can leave me feeling like a weakling more than sleep deprivation.
“The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease.” ~ William Osler
“If you can’t sleep, then get up and do something instead of lying there worrying. It’s the worry that gets you, not the lack of sleep.” ~ Dale Carnegie (Hmmmmm. Yesterday, I’m fairly certain it was the lack of sleep that “got” me.)
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi
“The true delight is in the finding out, rather than the knowing.” ~ Isaac Asimov
Weekend blessings to you all, and never give up! (Even if you haven’t slept! Ha!)
