Friday Philosophy…Strength Through Adversity

Let’s face it, life isn’t always a picnic. As I see it, when faced with adversity/struggles, we have two choices:take it lying down, or grow stronger despite it (or because of it, choose your phrasing there). Still, we’re all human and it’s so easy to succumb to our own wounds.

There’s nothing wrong with having a pity party once in a while. Have a good cry, yell, have a strenuous workout (one of my favored choices) or rearrange furniture and deep clean the house (haha, another favored choice). But always get back up again. Move forward with greater resolve, and greater strength.

“Victory is always possible for the person who refuses to stop fighting.” ~ Napoleon Hill

“During the most painful times of my cancer treatment, Rocky was an inspiration because he reminded me: it’s not how hard you hit, it’s how hard you GET hit…and keep moving forward.” ~ Randy Pausch

“I ask not for a lighter burden, but for broader shoulders.” ~ Jewish proverb (Okay, can I just say WOW?!)

“The thing about life is that you must survive. Life is going to be difficult, and dreadful things will happen. What YOU do is MOVE along, get on with it, and be tough. Not in the sense of being mean to others, but being tough with yourself and making a deadly effort not to be defeated!” ~ Katharine Hepburn

“Opposition is a natural part of life. Just as we develop our physical muscles through overcoming opposition – such as lifting weights – we develop our character muscles by overcoming challenges and adversity.” ~ Steven R. Covey

Blessings to you all, and NEVER GIVE UP!

If you’re still feeling a bit down, here’s a video I’ve shared before to pick you back up:
