Friday Philosophy…Suffering

It’s a part of life, right? Plus, everyone seems to think that artists of any kind have to suffer, a fact I once complained about here.

But we do suffer, at times. In the midst of those times, it can feel as though there isn’t an end in sight.

But suffering doesn’t last forever. Like everything else, it is fleeting. I read somewhere recently (and can’t remember where on earth it was) that, in all things, we need to remember “This too shall pass. It may pass like a kidney stone, but it will pass.” 🙂

“To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.” ~ Friedrich Nietzsche

“Seeing much, suffering much, and studying much are the three pillars of learning.” ~ Benjamin Disraeli

“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.” ~ Kahlil Gibran

“It is by suffering that human beings become angels.” ~ Victor Hugo

“Suffering is one very long moment. We cannot divide it by seasons.” ~ Oscar Wilde

May your suffering be brief, and your blessings abundant. ❤
